Getting to RSD4

The symposium will be held at The Banff Centre, Banff, Alberta, Canada.

Located within the UN World Heritage Site Banff National Park,  The Banff Centre is the largest arts and creativity incubator on the planet.

TRAVEL GUIDELINES
Banff is a 90 minute drive west of Calgary International Airport. Delegates can take one of nine daily Banff Airporter shuttles from the airport directly to the Banff Centre or arrange a private car with Banff Sedan.

Those wishing to extend their stay to take advantage of the many attractions and activities in the Canadian Rockies may prefer to rent a car at the airport. The Banff Centre provides directions from Calgary for car and shuttle transit.

Essential Travel Information

The official languages of Canada are English and French, although visitors will encounter predominantly English in Western Canada.

The currency is the Canadian Dollar. ATMs are readily available in airports, gas stations and banks and allow cash withdrawals in Canadian Dollars from most international debit cards. Major credit cards are accepted by almost all hotels, restaurants, taxis and attractions, although it is always a good idea to have some local currency in reserve.

Electricity in North America is 120V/60Hz. Travellers from other continents should bring power adapters for their electronic devices.

Please note that there is a $30 per person per day charge by the Banff Centre for delegates who stay off-site for use of wifi and parking, even if not employed by the delegates. We can make exceptions for students who are traveling under low-budget constraints, let us know when you register via Eventbrite if so.
